It is the year 5080 and the planet Earth is again at war. But this war is different; this time the people of earth isn't fighting each other, but fighting alongside one other, working towards one common
goal. The destruction of a self proclaimed "Ruler of the world," a man calling himself, General Ivo. He appeared with out warning and out of nowhere and swept across Earth like a plague. First Russia, then Japan, Germany, and United Kingdom fell. Soon even the mighty United State was shattered. In a last ditch effort, the eastern leaders launched a Dextertron bomb as the western part of the world watched in horror. In the blink of a eye, Russia, Japan, China, Ireland, Africa, and the United Kingdom, was vaporized into a barren wasteland, but it was all in vain, Ivo was set back, but soon his army and the war still ground on.
The resistance was in tatters, and then a man unlike any other steps up and begins to command the battered and bruised resistance. He slowly rounds up the last of the lost troops and gives the resistance a new name, "Gray Ghosts." He provides them with weaponry and armor like nothing the worlds seen before, and soon leads them to victory after victory.

Welcome to the world of “War” A fair word of warning this is a “first-person view” story, thus your going to see the letter “I” a lot, so its not that I’m uncreative is that I’m still looking for a replacement for it lol. I do try to not use “I” a whole lot though. As all ways with me this is a “work-in-progress” and the old and new chapters will be updated with new contents every now and then. Well I’m going to shut up now and let you embark in the planet of “War”
Princess Sally lays thrashing in her sleep, and then snaps awake with a gasp. “What is that place and who is that?” She mutters to her self. Drawing her knees to her chest, she remembers her dreams.
She was on a planet much like Mobius, however outlanders were still alive, and they were fighting someone called Ivo. She started having these dreams recently, when she watched a bomb of unspeakable power detonate and devastate half of this strange world. She watched as the man called Ivo was beaten back into a city that horrified her because it looked so much like Robotropolis and even was even more frighten because the city was protected by robots that looked like SWATbots. Then she watch the outlanders fight battle after battle, only to be beaten back and scatted.
Ivo began to enlarge his horrible city once more even as packets of resistance fought against him. Just as they were on the verge of annihilation; a man appears out of nowhere and begins to rebuild the armies of that world. By his side was a fox unlike anything she had ever seen, that fox stood like she did, on her hind legs, but that was the only resemblance to anyone or anything that Robotnik had produced on Mobius there was something strange about her, but she just couden't think of. Seeing the sunlight streaming in her window, she stretches and hops off the bed.
The town of Knotwood and the other Freedom Fighters were already awake and working. Miles “Tails” Prower runs up to Sally. “You’re wanted in the briefing room Sally” he says breathlessly. “Thanks Tails” Sally replies and sets off. Upon reaching the room she finds Sonic, Bunnie, and Antoine all sitting around the table. “What’s up?” Sally asks still kind of sleepy. “We think Robuttnik is up to something.” Sonic starts and Bunnie finishes for him “He has been quiet for too long, hun”. “I think it’s nice that we don’t have to fight.” Antoine states and then asks “what?” as every one stares at him. Sally sighs and answers Sonic and Bunnie “I know, I know, what do you think we should do?” Sally asks. “Recon” Sonic states simply and takes off before any one could move.
My dreams are filled with war. The utter devastation, day after day I watch my men fall. My lab is filled with the wounded. I want to wake up, to scream, for it to end but it can’t. It goes on and on never-ending... a hand is placed lightly on my shoulder and I snap wake, sitting up in my bed drenched in a cold sweet.
I look over at the hybrid vixen that had propped herself up with a worried look in her face. “It’s all right Fox” I say smiling, “it was just a dream.”
“Your power was fluxing again. We need to be careful.” She says, “People aren’t ready to know yet, and the men are still talking about last time.”
“We both know that I…” I start to argue.
“I know.” She cuts me off, “but the men still don’t know what to think, and I think that some are beginning to suspect something.”
I reply wearily, “but soon I may not have a choice…” We sit there with the moonlight streaming in from the window. As I drape my arms over my knees, she moves behind me and begins to massage my shoulders.
“Remember what life was like before this damn war, before any of this crap, when it was just me and you?” I ask. She stops massaging, but leaves her hands on my shoulders. “How could I ever forget.” She says it softly “It was such a long time ago.” The last part was spoken sadly.
“Yes, over three thousand years ago.” I say “Three thousand years…” she repeats it quietly. “So many people, family, friends…” I trail off, unable to finish my sentience. Noticing that small tears were rolling down Fox’s cheeks, I feel guilty that I had said anything and try to cheer her up. “Remember experiment 186,752-458A?” I say grinning. A laugh rocks her body and she stops crying. “How could I forget that one?” she giggles.
“How it exploded?” I start to laugh now. “It was everywhere…” I start. “And it took us weeks to clean it up.” She finishes for me, smiling showing off her small pointed teeth. I make an exploding action with my hands and we both doubling up and holding our sides crying.
Wiping the tears from our faces we look at each other, and I couldn’t help but notice how her brown eyes sparkled in the moonlight. “So many years,” I recur in my head, “and yet I still can’t how I truly feel about you, how I love you more than anything in this world”
“Those were the days, right?” she says breaking my thoughts. “Ya, nothing to worry about, working in the laboratory, lounging about, taking walks in the woods, swimming in the lake or showering under the waterfall.” I respond, “But that’s enough for now, please get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow.” “Ok but you need it more than me” she teases, running her finger down my arm, nuzzling my neck and nipping my ear gently before laying back down and soon she is sleeping soundly. I look loving at her, her rust red and white fur messed a little from movement and the laughing. Carefully, so I don’t wake her, I smooth out it. She lets out a soft “murr” taking me back to when we first meet.
It was over ten thousand years ago, before Fox was even born, and long before Ivo, war, and the devastation rocked the world, when I came to Montana, to this valley, to live the life of an outcast. I had I had hand built the log cabin we were sleeping in. To people that ever wondered through my valley, it was a simple cabin, and it was, but under the valley lay a whole other world.
I am a super genius, and my laboratory stretched for miles. It was a glimpse into the future, even in the now in the year 5080; I had things that would make anyone have a heart attack from wonder.
I had ejected my self with a serum to stop my aging and I like to check my DNA to make sure that there wasn’t any mutations. It was here while I was running experiment 1,986R (the “R” standing for repeating.) when my pet fox fell in to the machine, and emerged as the beautiful vixen, sleeping beside me, with my massive IQ.
It was quite a shock that she had even lived but imagine my surprise when she stood up! Standing at 5’ 7” she was a mere inch shorter then me. She was covered from head to toe in rust-red fur, with human like brown hair that flowed down to her shoulders. A small patch of white fur pointed at one end and braking off into three points facing downward in the middle of her forehead, her paws were white tipped also. It’s when I notice the large white patch all the way around her stomach that I get the biggest shock and is the most embarrassing moment. Two rather round fur covered breasts blossom out and when I snap my head away I notice (thankfully with some difficulty because to her fur) something else well feminine. She’s looking on with bewilderment as I whip around my face on fire. I move behind her, noticing that her tail splits off into many ends, all of them white tipped, and drop my lab over coat over her shoulders. She casts a backwards glance in my direction still completely confused but to my relief she puts it all the way on.
Now that she was completely covered, I was more concerned with her well being, then with the one of a kind opportunity standing in front of me. I quickly took a DNA sample from her, and my discovery that day would have made me world famous, but I had long ago cast it away. Her DNA had combined with my human DNA, with her vixen genes being the most dominant, adding to my amazement was the fact that that my age stopping serum had been spliced into her too. Now she was like me and would live forever. But with the good came the bad.

Just ask me first!
Even though we were called “humankind,” humans were anything BUT kind. (case and point King Kong.) Now I had a problem, if anyone were to see her, our lives would be over. The government would take her to experiment on or they may just outright destroy her, possibly both. I, on the other hand, would be put under arrest, and would either spend the rest of my undying life in prison, and/or be forced to work for the government after my true intelligence was discovered. As I stood there and pounded what in the world to do, Fox proved that she had indeed not only acquired my IQ plus my love for science, but that she knew what I was thinking too. Without saying a word she wandered over to a workbench, began to order wiring and parts from the computerized supply console, and then upon receiving them, began to place them together. Attracted, I walked over and watched as she worked with a precision that rivaled my own. “Hand me the plasma hand welder please master” she speaks. “Wha… oh right, here you go” I say as I hand it over.
I think nothing of it; after all we had been living together for about 2 years, and had formed a very unique bond that went beyond master and pet, more like friendship. When I would talk to her she’d tilt her head listening, and I knew that she was answering in her head. Now she was just walking and talking, nothing different in my mind. Soon it hits me and I very excitedly say, “Hang on a second, you can talk now!?” She turns and looks at me with one eyebrow raised, “Of course. You and I both know that I’ve been talking to you ever since you bought me. It just that now you can understand me, master”
“Well now you do have a point. I have a few things to ask you that will answer a few very, very old questions…. Whoa hold it right there,” she stops and looks at me again, “what’s with this whole master crap?” I finish.
“Well you bought me right?” she replies a hint of “what are you stupid?” working its way in. “Ya but…” I start back up.
“So then you’re my master” she states and turns back to her work. I grab her shoulder and spin her around to face me. “Look” I nearly snarl, “That doesn’t matter, haven’t I treated you as an equal nothing less? I hate any thing that elevates me above anyone or thing. My name is Brian, NOT master.” “Or owner” I add as she opens her mouth.
“So what are you working on?” I ask leading her away from that conversation. She blinks in surprise; then turns back to the mass of wiring and parts temporally forgotten. “Oh… well it’s a hologram projector.” She states simply. “Of course,” I say hitting my self on my forehead, “it’s so simple and yet so brilliant.”
“Yes, we simply hide the valley.” She finishes.
“You know if we hook this here and this over there, we can increase efficiently with out increasing the power draw.” I say and then we both dive in working for hours. In the end we had a rough working model and on the elevator ride back up to the cabin come up with many improvements. Then our stomachs growled at the same time. Grinning I state “I think its time for dinner” and proceeded to make it.
It felt strange to have her sitting there, laughing softly at my jokes, talking small talk, even just looking at each other, indeed it felt odder still just to HAVE someone sitting across from me. Oh sure, I’ve entertained a few lost hikers and even had a small plane crash and sink near the beach and ended up having to save the pilot. But each time I feed quickly feed them, retreated to my room, then lead them out of my valley as fast as possible. With her I felt inclined to take my time and enjoy her presence.
After dinner I light a fire and settle down on the couch with a good book, but I’m finding it hard to concentrate on it though, because I keep glancing up to check on what my newest roommate was up to. She wanders around poking her muzzle into the bookshelf and cabinets; she picks up odds and ends turning them end over end. “She’s exploring” I think with a start, “she’s lived here for over 5 years and now it’s like she just moved in.” I continue to watch her pick things up and play with them. My brain retaliates for her “Well it IS the first time that she’s had hinds to actually pick things up.” As the battle in my head rages, she stops her exam of the cabin and walks over to a rug lying in front of the hearth. She lies down and curls up into a ball, her vixen like face nestled gently on her arms, knees nearly touching her chest and her tail wrapped around her body. Chuckling to myself I think “Unlimited intelligence, can walk and talk like a human and she chooses to curl up in front of the fire just like always.” The last part is thought with a smile and a rather odd urge to join her.
Shaking that off, I return to my book still glancing up every time she moves. A few hours later I close the book, the fire had died down and I was tired. Stretching I glance over at the ball of fur still snoozing on the rug. A smile creep across my face and I catch myself thinking, “She’s beautiful.” Right after that I think “Were the hell that come from?” Shoving both of those thoughts to the back of my mind, I carefully, gently, and quickly scoop her up and carry her to my bed. After tucking her in, I began to close that door but stop and look at the sleeping vixen in my bed, bathed gently in the light coming from behind me. “Damn it what’s wrong with me today?” I mutter to myself and close the door. Pulling the couch out into a bed, I strip down to my boxers, settle in and soon fall asleep.
Sometime in the middle of the night I awaken. Suddenly I become very aware of something lying next to me. Fighting the urge to scream and jump up, I lay there trying to figure out whet it is and what to do. As I do, it moves and something brushes across my back. That did it. “Woo!” I yell as I fly out of bed and whip around to face what ever it was.
I blink in surprise at a confused looking Fox. With a start I realized two things one I was in my underwear and two she was in nothing. I mutter out an “Oh shit” as I spin around looking for my paints, blood rushing to my face and elsewhere. After finding and putting those on I turn around, fighting the urge to run my eyes over her body, lock my gaze on her face with mine was still burning.
“What’s wrong?” she asks innocently. “You…bed…nude…” I sputter arms flinging in all directions. She looks around and then back at me even more confused. I make a hasty retreat to the kitchen in order to calm down and to get a glass of water. Splashing some water on my face and drinking, I lean over the sink and continue to gather my thoughts. I can sense that she’s standing behind me. I let out a short silent sigh and turn around to see her standing in the doorway.
For the first time my scientific curiosity got the better of me and I begin to really take in my new housemate. I walk up and pick up her arm, she murrs with a mixed look of surprise and interest, stiffens slightly, but doesn’t make a move to stop me. Starting at her shoulders I run my finger down her arm, she shivers slightly but still doesn’t try to stop me. Her fur was soft, velvety and warm. I glance up and see that her eyes are half closed and she smiling slightly; I return to my investigation of her arm. Her arm was in proportion of a normal human, but under her skin I could feel powerful muscles. Her bone structure what that of a humans too. I reach her hand (human like with five fingers) the rust-red and white fur mixing around her wrist with the white fur winning past that. Her finger bends inwards just like mine. When I turn her hand over I was surprised. More fur, brown this time, covered her palm but running my finger over this proved a little bit more difficult then I thought. It was because it was short coarse hair and it was growing in a way as to provide grip much like the ridges on a human hand.
I move from her arms to her legs. I modestly started in the middle of her thigh not wanting to begin any higher and moved downward. Once again from her hips to her knees were human-like legs, and then came more fox-like parts. Curving legs ending in foxes paws. Her paws interested me they were oversized for her species; then again she was nothing like any other fox, and when I lift one of them up I discover that she still have pads on the bottom of them. Instead of being awkward, they seemed to give her great balance and agility.
As I stand up she lets out a huge yawn, and I can see the small sharp, pointy Vulpes teeth lining her mouth. Realizing that it was three in the morning I gently lead her through the cabin, back to my room. When we reach the door she stops, looks at me and pouts with big puppy like eyes. Something tugs at my chest and I almost give in, but instead I give her a stern look. Her shoulders sag, and she lets out a soft murr of disappointment, then starts to slowly shuffle into my room with a long lonely glance over her shoulders, before I close the door with a gentle click.
Now I feel like shit, so I tell myself that it was for the best. Something else stirs and I shoot a nasty glance downwards. “Don’t you EVEN dare...” I warn it. It sags back down, rejected. “I thought so” I think before I climb back into bed, neglecting to take off my paints.
Within thirty minuets I hear my door click open and the sound of padded feet quietly moving across the room. The end of the bed sags downward, creaking slightly, then stops. I wait for a few seconds before risking a glance. Yep there she was, curled up by me feet. I drop my head back down onto my pillow; close my eyes before sighing gently and speaking, “Persistent… Aren’t we?” Her head shoot up, ears pointed out to the sides, and shifts guiltily. I sigh loudly this time and flick open the covers beside me. She looks with interest but doesn’t move. “Come on, you’ll catch a cold sleeping like that.” It was lame but that’s all it took for her to leap under the covers. He wraps her arms around my neck then licks my cheek with her sandpaper-like tongue, before saying “thank you” and rolling over.
Feeling the spot were she had licked me, many questions pop into my head, some I answer on my own, others I resolve to ask her in the morning. When I roll over onto my side she wiggles herself closer and we end up laying back to back, her fur tickling my back and her tail running down my legs. Again I can’t help but notice how warm and soft her fur was. “Intriguing” that’s was my last conscious thought.

Just ask me first!
The next morning I awaken with something warm and fuzzy on my chest. Soft breaths blow across my ear and I open my eyes. A wall of fur blocks my view beyond my abs. shifting my gaze to the right I see that Fox's head is next to mine, mouth slightly open, breathing slowly past my ear. Moving slightly I discover that once if her arms were under my body and the other was wrapped around my neck. Farther investigation show that she's indeed sprawled across my chest.
As I look around, she begins to stir and licks my cheek again. A quick smile flashes across my face before she lifts her head over mine and yawns loudly. She opens her eyes, looks down at me, and blinks at me a few times in surprise. A few witty comments run through my head but I settle on a simple smile and a “Good morning. Sleep well?” even though I can’t see it I can tell that she’s blushing profoundly as she unwraps her arms and moves off my chest.
She sits next to me tucking her legs next to her body and I choose to sit up letting my wrist and arms hang loosely off of my knees. I inquire “Hey Fox, can I ask you a few questions?” She murrs puzzled and then smiles “sure” I think about all the questions I had to ask and then pick a few that I really wanted to know, “Well first off, what’s with that sound you just made?” She sits there giving her answer, “well… I guess the best way to describe it, is that it shows how I fell about something, wheatear I’m happy, sad, intrigued, and other things depending on how it’s used.”
“Thanks” I say before asking my next question. “Ok question two what’s up with the whole licking thing?” this one was from last night and seemed to take her by surprise. Oh that… well… um…” she’s blushing profusely now, avoiding my gaze, sifting uneasily, wile picking her words and her answer carefully, “It… it shows… ah… appreciation! Ya… It shows appreciation and trust!” I arch an eyebrow to her starting to panic, guessing that it meant that and a little more.
“Ok” I reply simply to calm her down before I ask her my last question. “Do you think” I start and her ears perk up “that it would be possible for a human to learn to understand and/or speck the animal language?” I finish thinking of the scientific possibilities.
She looks at me knowing why I asked, “I guess so… I mean if one was smart enough, had an open mind, an extreme stick-to-it drive, and lots of time.” I chuckle “were do I sign up?” She chuckles too and then says “But now I have a few questions for you.”
“Fair enough” I respond “fire away” “How old are you?” then she quietly adds “you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”
The truth was I hated this question just because it raised so many more, but I felt that I owed her my true age and not the one that I had told so many others. Sighing I tell her “well I stop keeping track a long time ago but I guess that I’m about a thousand years old.”
Of all the reactions I expected from that answer hers was the last one I ever thought about. Blushing she replies “You look good” this time I blush as I answer with a modest “thinks” and then “So what other questions do you have?”
“What for breakfast” she asks. This sudden shift in the conversation struck me as extremely funny and I bust out laughing. Still chortling I respond with, “Well what do you want?” before getting up to start it….
During breakfast (steak and eggs) we discuss many things. The projector, her, me, how and why my DNA bounded with hers so well, why and how I came to this valley, and many other things. Even through it’s only been a day and a night I feel extremely comfortable with this strange hybrid, indeed I had stopped thinking of her like that and merely thought of her as human. Soon after eating, we finish our improvement work on the projector. When we rum some numbers we discover that it needed to be placed in the middle of the lake because that’s were the center of the valley was. In order to fix the problem of “water and electronics don’t mix” and rather then mess with waterproofing, we simply built a platform for it to rest on.
After loading the projector and the M.A.D onto one of the larger hovercrafts that I use to get around the truly massive lab, we head out the platform to begin. After we hook it up the cold fusion reactor, we stand back as I type out the master program I say “well here we go…” and hit the enter key.
While the machine hums as it warms up I carefully monitor the power draw from the reactor and find it to be within the acceptable range that we had predicted. I risk a glance over a Fox, she’s standing next to me scribbling note onto a clipboard and I think “She looks very cute in my lab coat.” She looks up seeing me peeking at her and I snap my eyes back to my clipboard. When I look at her a few seconds with the corner of my eye she’s still looking at me. As we lock eyes, smiles creep across both of our faces, just then a beeping nose draws our attention back to the projector.
‘Initiating 3-D program in ten seconds…’ “I think its time to move” I say, quickly moving the hovercraft to the edge of the lake. I hand over some welder-like goggles to Fox and we both put ours on just as that count down finishes “3…2…1” A light brighter then the sun bursts out of the top and then splits into every color one could ever think of. Fox lets out a murr of amazement and I agree with a soft “wow.”
Slowly, then picking up speed the sides of the mountain begins to grow upwards from the top of the valley hills. Within minutes it half way done and most of the valley is in shadow. Soon only a thin shaft of ever shrinking light remains, then all is dark. In the darkness I feel a furry hand slip into mine and close; I hastate for a split second and then close mine too. A light weight is placed on my shoulder. Standing hand in hand in total I felt that it could go on forever like this but the computer voice booms out “…1 Program complete. Hologram mode activation.”
The whole mountain vanishes and the valley is once more bathed in sunlight. I glance over at Fox and realize that she’s standing closer then I thought, her head resting on my shoulder, eyes closed. I clear my throat quietly, and she opens her eyes, lifting her head up. I flash a smile at her then, all-most unwillingly, let go of her hand and she releases mine. Clearing my throat again and blushing slightly I say, “Only two more things too do now…” I hand over a walky-talky and headphones before dropping her off on the edge of the lake.
I take that hovercraft up to the edge of the valley and radio Fox “all right I’m proceeding out of the valley” I move forward, feeling a slight bump as I pass through the mountain projection. I keep moving in till I’m about five feet away and then turn around. Were there was only my valley before, there was now a mountain rising above me. I carefully advance on it and reach out slowly with my hand. It hits solid rock; I knock on it a few times muttering “perfect” and then radio Fox again “Fox it’s working flawlessly. Proceeding with step two.”
I hit the altitude throttles and with the engine humming begin to rocket to about thirty angels while strapping on an oxygen mask and turning on my heated jumpsuit. I set the autopilot and turn my char around to face the M.A.D. It looks something like a Van de Graaff generator, with a 5x5x5’ box on the bottom and a silver sphere standing on a pole, but what it did on the other hand was nothing like its counterpart. Knowing that my onboard oxygen supply would only last for a few moments, I work feverishly to fire it.
While working on the human mind, I happened to stumble upon the fact that all of the world’s population had what I call a “master brainwave” This brain wave was the most dominant the top of ones thought. It controlled all the other waves hence my term for it and with slight manipulation, simple things could be implanted, for example a mountain were a valley was. ‘Mind control’ most people would call it, I preferred ‘mind alteration’ Let it be known that I hate to mess with peoples mind, too many variables that could go wrong, but I’ve been forced to do it once and now I was going to do it again.
The only other time that I’ve had to use my Mind Alteration Device (M.A.D) was when I lost control of one of my experimental light-speed spacecraft somewhere over New Mexico. I managed to eject but unfortunately the plane plowed into a farmer’s field and the bugger reported to the Army. They took it to an airbase in Nevada, studied it, and then started to announce it to the world. I had no chose and I used the M.A.D, thus Area 51 was born around the year 1947.
The M.A.D is reaching its maximum charge and electuary is cracking around the orb. I radio Fox to warn her to place her blocking headphones on before I do the same, and then I press the discharge button.
Think of a calm lake and a rock is dropped into it. It breaks the surface and the resulting waves radiate outwards in ever-increasing circles. That is what happens when I fire the M.A.D. Those invisible waves would circle the world, distorting the ‘master brainwave,’ implanting the fact that my mountain has always been there, mapmakers would add it to the maps, pilots would avoid it, and some daredevils would climb it.
A beeping in my headset warns me that I only have 1 more minute of breathable oxygen left. My “shit” is muffled by my air mask as I spin around and cut the throttles. The humming of the engine stops and I begin to freefall. Around 25 angels I’ve reached terminal velocity. A light and siren flashes to life on my console indicating that I’m out of air. I reach back and pull a small emergency tank out of a storage bin, strapping the ten minuets of air to my leg, and then I do something that would have anyone else packing there pants. I reach down, unbuckle my seatbelt, and push off.
Spreading my arms, I slow my decent and the hovercraft quickly drops below me. I pull of a few tricks and flips, than turn myself face first towards the ground, close my eyes, and enjoy the feeling of weightlessness and the sound of air roaring past. Believe it or not this was my way of having fun, clearing my head, and relaxing all at the same time. It was here at 15 angels, falling at terminal velocity, eyes closed, that I decided to adopt her, make her my ‘daughter’ so-to-speak; I was adding Fox into my family.
About 6 angels I open my eyes and am greeted with the sight of the mountain rushing up to meet me. I press a button my watch and the hovercraft comes alongside me. Once more slowing myself, I maneuver over the top of it, perform a 180-degree flip floating gently back into my seat.
I keep the throttles chopped as I rebuckle my seatbelt preferring to stay in a freefall. I flick open my watch face revealing a holographic computer interface. Pressing a few buttons a signal is transmitted to the rock below me; it becomes mercury like just before I blow through it and it changes back to solid rock when I’m gone.
20 feet before I would crash into the lake I ram the throttles to their firewalls and the engine partially screams as it slows my descent coming to a complete stop two feet above the lake, I retract the throttles, then hover back to were Fox was standing. As soon as I land she hysterically says “What Happened? Did something fail? I saw you start falling and then you jumped out…” Her voice was reaching a very high pitch with panic. I am very relaxed and calm after my fall, so I hop out and lightly take her by her shoulders. Her eyes widen as I tell her why I did that. “You… you… you’ll never catch me doing that!” She stammers. Laughing gently I plant a soft kiss on her check and say “Everything’s fine. Your projector is working wonderfully. Come on now we need a shower” and then I lead her to it.

Just ask me first!
It was a simple design; in fact I had nothing to do with it. At one end of the lake was a river, a ways up that river was a four foot deep pool, and feeding that pool was a waterfall. Small underwater heaters warmed the water before it came crashing down the ten foot drop. The soap and shampoo were of my own ecio-friendly making. Drying off was even simpler, just get out and let the sun do its thing. Towels were hidden away just in case.
I slip behind a giant fern and pull on my swim trunks, emerging just in time to see Fox arch herself into the water with a near perfect swan dive. I choose to do a cannon ball hitting the water with a huge splash, dousing her with water. When I come up I have to laugh, she’s standing there, with water dripping off of her fur, eyes half closed, ears pointing straight out sideways, a vixens version of annoyance. She shakes her head and then retaliates by tackling me, pushing me under the water. I jackknife behind her, burst out of the water, lock my arms under hers, and topple backwards dragging both of us under. She squirms free and swims away.
When I bob to the surface she’s nowhere in sight, so I call out playfully “Hello?” When she doesn’t answer I add a fake accent to my voice “Vere are you Furline? I only vish to talk.” Still nothing, now I’m becoming worried, did I hurt her? I call out again panic rising “Fox?” Just then a shadow sails over head and I look up just in time to see a rust red fur ball detach itself from the top of the cliff.
“Ccccccaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooonnnn Bbbbaaaallllllllll!!!!” she screams as she picks up speed on the ten foot drop, ending with her blasting me out of the water and stirring up a lit of mud. I sink beneath the waves stunned, but recover quickly swimming slowly towards her legs. The mud cloud was drifting quickly down stream, but it lasted just long enough for me to grab her legs, slam my feet into the bottom thrusting upwards, and sending her flying.
We spend well over an hour laughing, playing, dunking and splashing each other before setting down and beginning to wash up. I toss her a new bar of soap with a “here ya go.” She catches it easily with one hand and begins to wash. I catch my self watching and begin to wash up too. Fully lathered, I close my eyes and step under the waterfall to rinse off.
When all the soap and shampoo was washed off, I continue stand there letting the pounding water massage me, then I begin to walk forward and with in two steps bonk into Fox’s muzzle, our lips meeting. Both of our eyes widen before she closes her and I swear that I could feel her pressing a little more hungrily just before I stumble back blushing profoundly and stammering “Oh jezz! I’m sorry! I…I didn’t know you were there!” Rubbing my neck in embarrassment I say “So… ah… did you need something?”
She looks down at the water, shuffling her feet, and I can tell she’s blushing too. “Oh ya… um… do… do you think that…” she mumbles stammering badly too, just as surprised at the kiss as I am.
Calming down, I try to coax it out of her “Fox? What do you need?” She stops shuffling and looks up, holding out the bar of soap, asking “Do you think you could wash my back?”
I stare at her dumbly for a few seconds in till it clicks, “oh…OH! Of course!!” then I add playfully “It would be an honor my lady” bowing deeply. She giggles, tilts her head a little to the side and looks at me with her deep brown eyes, a soft smile on her face.
Feeling a little uncomfortable about her gaze but deep down liking it, I Slip behind her and begin to wash her shoulders. She closes her eyes, relaxes her body, and murrs softly, enjoying the feeling of my hand roaming her back, working my way slowly down. I have to admit that I’m starting to enjoy the feel of her fur as I move to her tail.
All too soon I’m done and she moves under the waterfall. I watch the water cascade over her body, running over her hair, breasts and down her fur. Just as I’m thinking about how I’d love to run my hands over her body my conscience busts out ‘Daughter… Daughter… Daughter!!!’ With that echoing through my head I think ‘That was too close… I HAVE to stop thinking like that. I wonder were this is coming from?’
Just then Fox lays a hand on my shoulder sending more improper thoughts racing around my head and casing something to stiffen. I quickly glance down thinking ‘well that’s ONE mystery solved…’ before turning around ducking slightly lower in the water.
“Ready to leave?” she asks me. I tell her yes and begin to head downstream causing her to ask “were you going?” Chuckling, I reply “well there’s no sense in getting our feet dirty now is there?” and start swimming down the river. She hesitates for a few and then sets out after me.
When she catches up, I flip my feet forward and treading water float in the current. Copying me, we drift downstream talking. Halfway to the lake a red fox reynard appears on the bank and upon seeing Fox’s head lets out a bark of greeting. “Well, well, well,” I chuckle, “It looks like you have a new friend.”
For no reason Fox drops her feet stopping herself. I go a few more feet before managing to stop myself, watching on with interest.
She wades up to the male, squats to his level, barks, he responds, then the true shock comes. She opens her mouth and a strange language pours forth. “I ht kti ntrear becokla npt aelh thue celome”
The male’s eyes widen and he shakes his head wildly, while seemly glancing in horror at me. She fires off another string “tiy ju murt dte yho coerwtre” this time it looks like he is listening to her and stands there thinking, then nods slowly.
Fox seems to ask him a question with her next short burst. He nods curtly then looks at me and winks, before he turns back to Fox. Then my whole understanding of animal language came crashing down.
When he turns back to Fox and opened his mouth, the language that she had been speaking comes out. Needless to say, my jaw hit the ground, and my mind nearly fried its self trying to grasp that a common red fox was uttering human like speech. True I couldn’t understand it but they were words!!
Never in the history of the world had anything like this happened, but then again, here I stood, waist deep in a river, standing a few feet from a five foot eight inch tall walking talking Vupies Vupies, that was having a conversation with another fox, like it was a normal every day thing. But just when my mind was beginning to grasp this, Fox dropped the mother of all bombs. She turns to me with a grin and says, “He speaks some english.”
