Synopsis: When the sudden appearance of a member of a species thought to be extinct threatens to throw the city into turmoil, the arrogant Captain of the City Guard hatches a plot to cover up the incident before his superiors find out what has happened. He plays a dangerous game and he knows well that the stakes are very high. A young wolf, as out of place in the city as the human that stirred up all of the trouble, finds herself caught in the middle. She knows that she must get to the bottom of things and thwart the Captain's plot before people start getting hurt.
Notes: A short story that got away from me and grew into something a lot longer and much more interesting than the original few thousand words I scribbled down during an inspired moment a few years back. Yet another work in progress that I scratch away at when the opportunity presents itself. Hoping that I'll have the next chapter done and posted by august/06...
