Anthrofiction Writing Contest, Fall 2006Announcing the Fall 2006 Writing Contest! The fall contest is ready to roll and the theme is the harvest. I'm interested to see if anyone will try something daring. Anthrofiction Network is a labor of love, there is no fee to enter the contest. I also have a trophy for the winner, a plaque featuring gold ore from Cripple Creek, Colorado. Scotty

Changing the deadline for the contest?
Important announcement: I might delay the close of the entry period to include functional changes to the website in the current contest cycle. Please see this message board post at Planetfurry for details and to leave feedback. Or leave feedback here if you prefer not to leave feedback at Planetfurry.
I realize this is a last-second decision. I hope it does not cause anyone undue hardship.

Delayed close of contest entry
I've decided to go ahead and delay the close of the contest entry period. The new entry deadline is November 21st.
When I have a usable account creation/login system working, I'll post the URL of the test server so y'all can try to break it. I'll announce the completion of each phase and invite further testing as I get there.

Close of the Judging Period
Let's get some more readers scoring these stories!
30 ballots cast for 5 stories by 9 readers with 5 to 7 ballots per story.
Tuesday night is a weird time to end the scoring period. So on a whim, and in an effort to get more active readers, I have extended the scoring period to Friday night at midnight GMT (7:00pm EST, 4:00pm PST). So instead of only 47 minutes to read and score these stories, you have 3 days and 47 minutes.
Only three people have scored all five stories: a tiger, a rat, and a badger. Are you to be outdone by this motley group of mere animals? So contact your friends, tell your family, and finish those stories you've been meaning to read. We don't need a full critique, but the authors would like at least a little feedback.
The stories (in order of ID number):
Harvest Celebrations
Brisbane Snowdancer: and Return of the Lady
Season End
The Iron Badger
Faltered Step
Remember, the theme is The Harvest and there are a few paragraphs on judging criteria on each ballot page.
Thankyouverymuch!
