Anonymous Comment Posting has been turned off

I've turned off the ability to post comments anonymously. After having to go through 400+ spam comments that were submitted since noon on last Friday (12/8) only to find that none of them were anything but spam I have decided disable this feature.
Perhaps if there had been more than a couple of anonymous comments submitted since I enabled this feature several months ago I would continue to work with it. But since it is ultra-rare for anyone to submit a comment who isn't registered on the site I don't see the benefit of keeping the feature.
If anybody has reasons why this feature should be kept available please speak up and we can discuss the matter.

Yeah, that one was gonna
Yeah, that one was gonna come eventually.
I had to do the same thing with anthroarchives.org. First anonymous comments went, then I took to approving all applications. That finally has kept the forum clean of spam, but I still have to go through and manually delete spam applications.
